Meet Emily Leonard, LPC

I am passionate about helping you navigate life’s challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, and authentic human connection.

Emily Leonard, LPC

Therapist

I’m a therapist who leans into slowing down. I believe healing isn’t something that can be rushed or forced into a formula. It happens best in a space that feels honest, unhurried, and free of judgment. I care deeply about helping clients quiet the outside noise long enough to hear themselves again.

My approach blends IFS, TF-CBT, and feminist theory, though more than any single method, what matters most to me is the relationship itself, and creating room to go deeper than basic coping skills. I believe in meeting you exactly where you are, without an agenda for who you should become, and pacing everything around the client rather than a fixed program. For clients who want it, I’m also glad to bring a faith based approach into our work together.

Areas of Support

  • Anxiety & Depression

Depression and anxiety can impact your thoughts, emotions, and daily life, making it hard to feel like yourself. Emily offers compassionate, evidence-based therapy to help you make sense of your experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and take steps toward healing and hope.

  • Trauma & PTSD

Trauma can leave lasting emotional scars, making it difficult to feel safe or in control. But recovery is possible. Emily provides evidence-based therapy to help you process painful memories, reduce emotional distress, and rebuild a sense of strength and resilience.

  • Life Transitions

Change, whether planned or unexpected, can bring uncertainty and emotional overwhelm. Emily provides compassionate, evidenced-based therapy to help you process emotions, manage stress, and regain a sense of stability during times of transition.

  • OCD

OCD can feel like a constant, exhausting negotiation with your own mind. Emily focuses on helping you talk back to OCD, explore what’s underneath it, and reclaim a stronger sense of identity and control.

  • Neurodivergence

Emily offers an affirming, validating space for neurodivergent clients to explore identity, unmask cultural expectations, and build coping strategies that actually fit how their mind works.

Therapeutic Approach

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS helps you understand and work with the different parts of yourself, including the ones that carry shame, self-blame, or old protective patterns, so you can build a more compassionate relationship with yourself as a whole.

  • Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT helps process traumatic experiences and shift the thought patterns that keep pain on repeat, building toward lasting relief and resiliency.

  • Feminist Theory

Emily’s approach is grounded in questioning the cultural noise and external expectations that often drive shame and self-blame, helping clients reconnect with their authentic identity.

  • Christian Counseling

For clients who wish to integrate their Christian faith into therapy, Christian counseling combines spirituality with evidence-based care. Whether seeking strength, navigating doubt, or wanting a therapist who understands your beliefs, this approach supports healing through a spiritual lens.
